Jon Rothenberg graduated from Wayne State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. After successfully completing the CPA exam on his first attempt, he became a certified public accountant in 1985.
Jon is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Within the MACPA, Jon has served as a member of the Federal Taxation Committee and the Membership Committee. He is a past board member of the Southfield Chamber of Commerce.
Jon works with small closely held businesses and their owners servicing their accounting and tax needs. Jon has worked with a wide range of clients at both local and national firms.
Jon began his securities career in 1998 and currently holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 66 licenses. As a CPA Jon has worked with employer retirement plans since he started in 1983 which has made him very knowledgeable about ERISA rules and plan compliance issues. Jon has been working with retirement plans as a financial advisor since 2004.
David has been a licensed CPA since 2003, and has gained invaluable experience working at several “Big Four” firms along with various smaller and mid-size firms. He has specialized in working with small to mid-size companies, and provided a full range of services to Clients in the form of Tax Consulting, Tax Planning, Tax Preparation, related Year-End Accounting, and Auditing.
David is a member of both the Michigan Association of CPAs (MACPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). In addition, he is a Member of two professional monthly meeting groups – the Southfield MMG and the Birmingham MMG.
David holds various degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Detroit, a Masters of Taxation from Walsh College of Accountancy & Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School.
David’s hobbies include basketball, cross country skiing, water skiing and chess.
Jason has gained experience from two regional accounting firms, a “Big Four Firm,” and two fortune 500 businesses in the three years before arriving at JD Rothenberg and Associates PLC. Prior to his accounting career Jason worked in several industries which gave him a broad understanding of customer service and business development. Working in information technology, job production, and retail, Jason is passionate about focusing on the client’s needs and educating the client on best practices.
Jason holds two master degrees from the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University, a Master of Business Administration in Finance, Master of Science in Taxation, and is completing a third, Master of Science in Accounting. As part of his education, Jason trained under the Eli Goldratt method of Theory of Constraint Management.
Jason has been active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years as an Aquatics Director Trainer, The Red Cross as Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, and a member of the Boy Scout National Aquatics Committee. He has trained hundreds of adult leaders to safely operate aquatic facilities, and prepared thousands of Scouts for aquatic emergencies.
Jason’s hobbies include canoeing, home brewing, and mountain biking on Michigan’s trails.
Jessica graduated with honors in 2015 from Colorado Technical University with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. While in school, Jessica worked as a nanny for two young boys. This makes her very prepared to work with Jon and Jason. Jessica has several years of experience as an administrative assistant and looks forward to continuing her learning and growth in this field. She has also worked in the areas of daycare, realty, medical billing and finance.
Jessica joined the team at J.D. Rothenberg & Associates, P.L.C. in October 2017. Her duties include: customer service; data entry; organize and schedule appointments; assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports; and develop and maintain the filing system.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors, sports, shopping, volunteering at her children’s school and spending time with her family.
